Term 4

In Term 4 our topic is "Bugs, Spiders and Butterflies," we are learning more about small creatures in our world.
Our values focus this term is Pride. We will show pride in our work, our learning and progress, and we will do our best.
This term Matua Mark will be working alongside Mrs Caudwell in C6.
Swimming has started. We will swim five days a week in weeks 5, 7, and 9. The children all need to bring tags and a towel in a plastic bag, even if it is wet. It may be fine by the time we swim just after 12N.

Glenholme School Values

Our Glenholme School Values are respect, responsibility, pride, honesty, and a go-for-it attitude. You will see us trying our best to show these values in our learning, in class, and in the playground.

Writing

Welcome to our Writing page. This is a new feature of our C6 blog. You can look here to see the Learning Intentions and Goals for each writing group, photos of our work, or photos of our modelling books

29.3.16 On the main page of our class blog, you can see our first Pic-Collage photos. We each worked on our own with Miss Bridgeman, to make a Pic-Collage about ourselves. Some children have done it before, but for most it was a brand-new fun experience. We had to write our name, change the style and colour of the type font, and insert a photo that Miss Bridgeman took of us. Then we chose a background, and inserted some stickers, to make it look cool. As we get more practice, we will be able to use Pic-Collage as an independent language and writing activity.

6.4.16 On the front page of our blog, you will see the current learning intention, or goal, for each writing group. We are all learning to use a three-part picture plan, with key-words, to help us plan our three writing ideas. Year 1 will use simple sentences. Year 2 are expected to extend their ideas and add more detail, using jioning words such as 'because', 'also' and 'then'.
